최근 모바일 기기의 인터페이스에 사용되고 있는 터치제스처는 제한된 개수의 터치점만을 사용하고 있기 때문에 보다 다양하고 일반화된 인터페이스 기술을 구현하는데 어려움이 많다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제를 해결하기 위하여 현재 상용화된 터치제스처(Microsoft사의 Windows 7)의 기능을 능가한 멀티터치 형상과 터치점 개수에 자유로운 터치제스처 인식 방법에 대해 기술한다. 이 방법에서는 입력 장치로부터 들어오는 터치 영역의 무게 중심과 각 터치점들 간의 거리 및 각도 변화, 이동 경로 정보를 이용하여 터치점의 수가 변하거나 터치점의 형상이 변하더라도 미리 정의된 명령어로 쉽게 인식할 수 있다. 또한 터치점의 형상, 즉 터치점의 모양과 면적 정보를 이용하여 정밀한 제어가 가능한 터치제스처 인식 방법에 대해서도 기술한다. 프로토타입의 테이블탑 디스플레이를 이용한 실험을 통해 이 알고리즘이 멀티터치를 기반으로 직관적인 터치제스처 표현에 적합함을 알 수 있었다. |

(English Abstract) |
Recently the development of touch gesture in mobile devices has been faced with a generalization problem which is very dependent on the number of multi-touch points. In this paper we propose a touch gesture recognition method which is independent from variation of touch shape and the number of touch points, and it could be considered superior than those of Microsoft's window7. This method recognizes the multi-touch gestures using central moments of touch area, distances and angles between touch points, and paths of each points. Additionally, the shapes of each touch, ellipsoidal shape and area information, are used in our method to make the gesture more sensitive. We have evaluated our method on our hand-made tabletop display system and the result has shown that the proposed method is surely more elaborated and intuitive than previous methods. |
