¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
CoW (Copy-on-Write) is a technique that can minimize unnecessary data copying and memory bloat that may be caused by fork. However, when CoW occurs, the write causes the user-kernel mode switch which is the overhead. Therefore, CoW is inefficient in operations when large amounts of write operations are performed immediately after the fork. In this paper, we propose Coverage Copy-on-Write (CCoW), a locality based copy-on-write technique using coverage, to solve the problem. CCoW can reduce the number of write faults and improve the performance by identifying the portion where CoW occurs frequently and can copy the entire portion in a single write fault. |
