(English Abstract)
Comics typesetting is a process of erasing letters from foreign comics and naturally drawing the translated letters. The process of erasing letters has been performed manually. This is the most time-consuming task in the typesetting process and requires extensive labor. There are tools to facilitate the removal of text, but no fully automated tools exist. We have developed a system ¡°SickZil-Machine¡± that automates the removal of text during the typesetting process. The SickZilMachine segments the text area by applying the image segmentation to the comics image. After erasing the existing text in the segmented area, the SickZil-Machine naturally restores the area by applying images inpainting. In both processes, the deep learning model was applied to achieve acceptable performance. The dataset for the model training was also constructed and the characteristics of the dataset for performance improvement were revealed
