(English Abstract)
As the Software (SW) education in elementary school started this year, the Software Education for all Elementary Teachers (SWEET) project promoted in order to strengthen the software education competencies of the student teachers in the national universities of education. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed how the needs of the software education according to a department are different for the 3rd and 4th grades students attending a national university of education. As a result, the students in the arts and physical education department had a lower understanding of software education and male students had a lower understanding than female students. In addition, the class time and information infrastructure for software education were lacking in the liberal arts course, and the perception of computer room management and computer maintenance was low. Therefore, considering the role of elementary school teachers who have to teach all subjects, it is necessary to expand the liberal arts courses and the major courses for software education.
