Auto-ethnography is one of qualitative research with self-reflection and writing to explore personal experience. Auto-ethnography is an autobiographical story to describe researcher’s experience of the past. Most researchers like to assess students activity quantitatively. But many educational researchers used to say that this method can’t properly observe development, behavior and thought of students. 2015 revised curriculum in Korea focused process-driven assessment. This means that assessment have to be performed in class with observation by teacher. Therefore we have to find out a way to assess student’s activity in class. I think that auto-ethnography is a good tool to assess student’s change of thinking, attitude and mind on a way of class. Novel Engineering (NE) is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary way to integrate engineering and literacy. We need to assess student on NE. It's not easy to find out to assess student quantitatively. I make sure that Auto-ethnography is a good way to assess Novel Engineering.
