In this paper, we present and implement a method of depth map estimation from a single image using edge blur information. At first, we perform a re-blurring processing using Gaussian function with input image, and blurring amounts of the edge are calculated from gradient magnitude ratio of input image and re-blurred image. The full defocus map could be obtained by propagating the blur amount at the edge location. The experimental result shows that our algorithm outperforms a reliable estimation of depth map, and provides a positive depth map on inaccurate edge location and interferences of neighboring edges for 2D-to-3D conversion.
