This paper proposes an improved hand blood vessel pattern extraction algorithm which compensates the loss of connected patterns of hand blood vessel and provides more enhanced and stable hand blood vessel pattern information. In the proposed filters, normal mode extracts thick pattern in order to compensate the loss of connected information of within blood vessel pattern and enhancement mode extracts thin pattern in order to compensate the loss of connected information of blood vessel edge area. By utilizing proposed filter to extract vessel pattern, the final person verification algorithm shows the five times better performance than conventional algorithm in terms of FAR. |
