(English Abstract)
Recently Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) standard has been introduced to reduce the layer 3 handover latency. PMIPv6 is a network based scheme, which means that Mobile Node (MN) does not perform any layer 3 control signaling instead it has been taken care by the Mobile Access Gateway (MAG) and Local Mobility Anchor (LMA). PMIPv6 reduces the layer 3 handover latency by maintain the same IPv6 for the mobile node, the latency caused by control signaling between MAG and LMA is still unsuitable for real time applications (e.g. VOIP, and video streaming). In this paper we propose architecture which combines PMIPv6 and OpenFlow (OF), to offload the mobility management and control signaling from the MAG.
