This paper consists of the optimized robot navigating a grid-world with obstacles to find a goal. The capabilities and restrictions of the LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 are also suggested. This is illustrated by designing, building and testing a maze solving robot by showing the relatively uncomplicated software implementation and optimized hardware design. Navigation of the grid-world is complicated with by up to four obstacles that can be placed on the array. A robot immediately activate ¡°back-tracking mode¡± when it finds a goal spot, and then it safely comes back to starting point.
