IEEE 802.16은 BWA(Broadband Wireless Access) 시스템 표준으로 사용자들에게 높은 대역폭과 넓은 전송 영역의 서비스를 제공 해 주는 네트워크 기술이다. IEEE 802.16 시스템에서는 단말의 채널 상황에 맞는 효율적인 서비스 제공을 위해, 기지국에서 단말의 채널 상황 정보를 리포트 받는다. 표준에서는 채널 상황 리포트 방법으로 CQICH(channel quality information channel)를 통한 리포트 방법을 정의하고 있다. CQICH를 통한 채널 상황 리포트 방식은 상향링크 프레임영역 내의 자원을 CQICH 용도로 사용하며 이를 각각의 단말들에게 할당 해 주고, 단말들은 주기적으로 자신에게 할당된 CQICH를 통해서 측정한 하향링크 채널 상황을 기지국에게 리포트 하는 방식으로 동작한다. 하지만, 표준에서는 구체적인 CQICH를 관리하는 기법에 대해서는 명시하고 있지 않다. 따라서, 효율적으로 단말의 채널상황 정보를 획득하기 위해서는 기지국에서의 CQICH를 관리하는 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.16e 시스템에서의 CQICH 관리 기법을 디자인 하였으며, 성능 측정을 통해서 제안하는 기법이 기지국에서의 단말의 채널 상황을 정확하게 전달 받으면서 성능향상을 높임을 확인하였다. |

(English Abstract) |
IEEE 802.16 is a BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) system standard that provides a high data rate and wide transmission range to users. To provide the efficient service to users depending on users‘ channel quality, base stations receive channel quality report from users. The IEEE 802.16 standard defines the CQICH (channel quality information channel) report scheme. In the CQICH report scheme, a base station allocates uplink resources which are used for CQICH to users. Then users report their channel quality periodically using the allocated CQICH to the base station. However, the IEEE 802.16 standard does not specify how to manage CQICH. Therefore, a CQICH management scheme is necessary to acquire accurate users’ channel quality efficiently. In this paper, we design a CQICH management scheme for IEEE 802.16 systems. The performance of the proposed scheme has been evaluated by simulations, and we have found that the base station obtains accurate channel quality for users and increases the capacity of IEEE 802.16e systems. |
