(English Abstract)
Recently, Li et al. proposed a biometricsbased remote user authentication scheme using smart cards. Their scheme is based on biometrics verification, smart card and one-way hash function. They claimed that their scheme is secure against smart card stolen attack, replay attack and man-in-the-middle attack. However, this paper points out that their scheme is still vulnerable to the offline password guessing attack in the assumption that the attacker could get and read the user"fs smart card. To cope with the flaw in Li et al.'s scheme, we propose a robust biometrics-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards.
