In the K-12 education site, the demand for coding education is gradually expanding while the various coding tools are popularly used as an effective learning environment. However, the meaning for 'what the computing concepts are for children (e.g. elementary student)?' has not been fully provided. In this aspect, this study developed the CFT (computational fairy tales) for coding beginners and then analyzed the effects of CFT on the acquisition of the basic computing concepts and coding attitude of elementary students. First, a CFT was developed in the procedure of extracting the concept of computer science through literature analysis, developing the plot/episode, and creating the story. Finally, a CFT composed of 11 concepts of computing were developed. 152 elementary students participated in the experiment read the CFT and solved related problem every morning for two weeks. In the results of study, both the score of computing concept and attitude of coding was enhanced (p<.001).
