(English Abstract)
As increasing 3-dimensional graphic data modeled using X3D or VRML, there needs a content-based retrieval system which can retrieve 3-dimensional graphics data based on their contents such as object shapes, volumes, and spatial relationships. Thus, we propose a method that can retrieve similar scenes to a given 3-dimensional one using the information on the size and spatial placement of objects included in a scene. We use the Octree structure to represent objects' spatial information such as size and placement. In addition, we apply a viewpoint normalization process based on object's volume and placement information for considering a viewpoint in the retrieval process. Finally, we show the effectiveness of our method using experiments.
