(English Abstract)
LPWA(Low Power Wide Area) standard is attracting attention as a communication technology suitable for sensor based IoT application due to low power consumption and wide coverage characteristic. The maritime environment is a LoS environment suitable for such LPWA technology, but it may cause communication distance and service problems due to modules placed on the water surface. As a solution to this problem, in this paper, we conduct an experiment in which LPWA - based marine IoT modules are placed in a LoS environment and compared the actual distance produced by the actual communication and link budget method. As a result, show that the difference of the link budget of the end device is about 12, but the actual measured value is 8.9. In addition, the reliability of the actual measure against the link budget is 99.9% at the maximum, 89.7% at the minimum and 95.4% at the average.
