(English Abstract)
Recently, vehicular communications are proposed as the potential for enhancing road safety, improving traffic efficiency, and providing rich on-board information and entertainment services. Massive connectivity and safety guarantee are major challenges caused by high mobility in 5G vehicular communication networks. On the other hand, Device-to-Device (D2D) communication implements the direct communication between two physically close users by using the same resources used by regular cellular users. Therefore, D2D communication has been proposed as a possible candidate for vehicular communication. In this paper, we study D2D-based vehicular communications. Finally, we discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with vehicular communications.
