(English Abstract)
Ad hoc network without the aid of any established infrastructure is the major wireless communication technology for tactical networks. Tactical ad hoc networks may experience many different types of environmental conditions, such as node mobility, deteriorated environments with obstacles, and severe weather. In these environments, it causes frequent link failures and frequent route recoveries. Ad hoc routing protocol performs the adaptive operation to topology changes for minimizing packet loss or delay. When it determines a new route after a link failure, ad hoc routing protocol should increase the efficiency of network resource consumption by minimizing routing overhead. In this paper, we propose an improved route recovery latency method in ad hoc networking for unmanned ground vehicles. The proposed method minimizes route recovery latency and uses network resources efficiently by adjusting the link quality measurement interval. We prove that our method reduces routing overhead and improves network performance.
