(English Abstract)
Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a promising candidate to reduce the inherent delay in cloud computing by pushing the computation resources to the network end. In MEC, the computation and storage resources are placed either at the core network or at the base stations (BSs). Along with this, software-defined network networking (SDN) can be used to implement the cellular networks to enable easier management of the network. In this paper, a hierarchical framework for placement of MEC servers in a cellular network is proposed. The proposed framework exploited the hierarchical distributed control of SDN to enable scalable operation compared to conventional SDN centralized control.
