¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
Flash-memory based mobile storage used in smartphone and tablet has small amount of SRAM and low performance processors. In this paper, we propose a practical FTL architecture called TinyFTL that is optimized for the mobile environment. The TinyFTL has low memory requirements even though it implements full essential features of FTL that previous studies overlooked including efficient garbage collection, page-mapping, caching, and fast boot-up. Also it provides scalability such that memory requirement does not increase proportionally to storage capacity. Through experiments, we show that TinyFTL performs better than a state-of-the-art FTL in terms of performance and boot-up time with much smaller memory footprint. |
