ºÐ»êÆÄÀϽýºÅÛ (DFS)Àº ¹èÄ¡ ÇÁ·Î¼¼½Ì¿¡ ÀûÇÕÇÏ°Ô ¼³°èµÇ¾ú´Ù. µ¥ÀÌÅÍ Á¢±Ù ¼Óµµ Çâ»óº¸´Ù ³ôÀº 󸮷®À» Áß¿ä½ÃÇÑ´Ù. ±×·¡¼ ´ë´Ù¼öÀÇ DFS´Â In-place º¯°æÀ» Áö¿øÇÏÁö ¾Ê´Â´Ù. In-place º¯°æÀÌ ºó¹øÈ÷ ¹ß»ýÇϴ ȯ°æ¿¡¼´Â ½É°¢ÇÑ I/O ¼º´É ÀúÇÏ°¡ ¹ß»ýÇÑ´Ù. RAID°¡ Àû¿ëµÇ´Â DFS¿¡¼´Â ÀÌ¿Í °°Àº ¼º´ÉÀúÇÏ ¹®Á¦°¡ ´õ¿í´õ ½ÉÇØÁú ¼ö ÀÖ´Ù. ÀÌ ³í¹®¿¡¼´Â D-Logging (Differential Logging) ±â¹ÝÀÇ In-place º¯°æ ±â¹ýÀ» Á¦¾ÈÇÑ´Ù. ¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
Generally, DFS (Distributed File System)s are designed for batch processing, so they focus on enhancing throughput rather than I/O response time. Consequently, most DFSs do not support In-place update. When updates are frequent, DFSs degrade I/O performance severely. In DFSs with RAID, the performance degradation can be more serious. In this paper, we propose an In-place update method for DFS RAID based on differential logging technique. The proposed method reduces the I/O costs, network traffic and XOR operation costs for RAID. Through various experiments, we show the efficiency of our proposed In-place update method.
