¿µ¹®³»¿ë
(English Abstract)
The wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs) are easily exposed to the attacks of malicious users because they are based on wireless communication and atypical network topology and contiguously transfer multimedia data. Therefore, security is required in WMSN. Selective encryption schemes that encrypt only a small part of large multimedia data have been actively studied because it is difficult to encrypt all of the multimedia data due to the limited resources of sensor nodes. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient selective encryption scheme for WMSNs that detects the dynamic motions of frames and then compresses and encrypts them. As the proposed scheme performs selective encryption that reduces the encryption data size through the encryption of only the dynamic area, it is suitable for streaming data transmission and is able to prolong the entire network lifetime of the WMSNs. To show the superiority of our proposed scheme, we compare it with the existing scheme. Our experimental results show that our proposed scheme reduces the amount of data transmission by about 80.3% and decreases the energy cost by about 76.9% for multimedia data transmission over the existing scheme on average.
