(English Abstract)
With the rapidly increasing popularity of XML, an effective method to transmit XML data over wireless data broadcast channel is urgently required. This paper describes a novel XML data streaming method on air. Wireless XML stream is organized to enable a selective tuning scheme for path queries by borrowing the path summary technique, which was originally devised for indexing semi-structured data. In addition, the bit allocation scheme is proposed to support simple type of twig queries with only parent-child relationship by identifying hierarchical relationship among streaming nodes. The conducted experiments reveal that the proposed method shows superior performance over previous approaches in terms of access time and tuning time.
