¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
In general, humans acquire most information related to everyday life through vision. In that respect, vision loss and blindness impairs human life. The biggest inconvenience of visually impaired persons is related to mobility rights. As visually impaired persons have limited walking information such as walking width, walking distance, feeling on the sole of the foot and sounds, they are exposed to many uncertainties and hazards. For such reasons, it is urgent to develop and distribute a navigation system for visually impaired persons in order to them to safely move to desired places. In this paper, we design and implement the navigation system for visually impaired persons. The proposed system dynamically generates guidance data using the Google Maps API in order to provide current information that is specially tailored for visually impaired persons. Although the proposed system does not load the entire map data, the proposed system can dynamically generate the path information and perform the route guidance by using the Google Maps API. Moreover, as it is provided as an independent program, it can be applied to the assistance devices that visually impaired persons already own.
