개인 휴대통신과 무선 인터넷 기술을 이용하여 시간과 장소의 제약을 극복하고 다양한 서비스를 편리하게 활용할 수 있는 방법이 많이 연구되고 있다. 이러한 사회 환경 변화는 교육 분야의 발전을 위해 새로운 교육방식의 도입으로 이어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개인휴대단말기를 기반으로 출석을 확인할 수 있는 U-CLASS 시스템을 제안하고 구현하고 있다. 시스템의 운영 결과는 DB로 축적되고, 자료 분석을 통하여 출석상황, 착석위치 상황 등에 따른 학업 성취도 분석과 출석위치에 따른 상관관계를 연구 분석한다. 분석결과 강의자로부터 가까운 좌석에서 수강하는 학생일수록 학점이 높아질 수 있다는 예측이 일치하고, 출석률 또한 학점이 높을수록 높게 나타난다. 따라서 강의실 좌석의 위치와 출석률은 학업성취도에 많은 영향을 주는 요인으로써 성적과 아주 밀접한 상관관계를 가지는 것을 알 수 있다. |

(English Abstract) |
Recently, many methods which can overcome temporal and spatial limits by using Personal mobile communications and WiFi communications to achieve various convenient services have been studying. Such changes in social environment request advanced education methods and systems which accept new technologies for education. In this paper, an U-CLASS system which can check student attendance and seat position information by using personal mobile devices is proposed and implemented. The accumulated data in the system DB is used to analyze relationship among academic achievement, attendance rate and seat position information. As the result of analysis, the distance from professor and the student have very tight relation. The higher attendance rate also has tight relation with the better student credits. Therefore both the seat position and attendance rate are very important factors for academic achievement and have a close relationship each other. |
