(English Abstract)
The demand for real-time multimedia services is increasing as multimedia service users grow and technology advances. The growth of traffic due to these user growth leads to network congestion. Network congestion makes queueing delay, and therefore QoS cannot be guaranteed due to packet loss caused by queueing delay. To solve these problems studies about algorithms which improve the multimedia service quality by using the characteristics which multimedia streams have. In this paper, PQM(Priority Queue Management) algorithm is proposed which removes the packet probabilistically according to the queue status of base station. The comparison with other existing scheduling algorithms shows tht congestion in the network is reduced and multimedia service quality of the proposed algorithm is improved.
