실세계 모델로부터 획득된 3차원 점군을 다각형 메쉬, 매개화 곡면, 또는 음함수 곡면과 같은 명시적인 표현 형태로 변환하는 다양한 기법들이 개발되어 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커널과 다중해상도 분석 이론을 기반으로 하는 다중스케일커널을 이용하여 흩어진 점군을 다중 스케일 음함수 곡면으로 재구성하는 방법에 대해 소개한다. 이것은 이전 재구성 방법들과 달리 입력 데이터에 대한 별도의 처리 없이 다중스케일 재구성이 가능하며, 계산된 함수는 다중스케일로 분해되어 다중해상도 표현을 지원할 뿐만 아니라, 차원 데이터를 위해 자연스럽게 확장될 수 있다. 3차원 흩어진 점군에 대한 실험을 통해 제안하는 기법의 특성과 성능에 대해 설명한다.

(English Abstract) |
A variety of reconstruction methods has been developed to convert a set of scattered points generated from real models into explicit forms, such as polygonal meshes, parametric or implicit surfaces. In this paper, we present a method to construct multi-scale implicit surfaces from scattered points using multi-scale kernels based on kernel and multi-resolution analysis theories. Our approach is different from other methods in that multi-scale reconstruction can be done without additional manipulation on input data, calculated functions support level of detail representation, and it can be naturally expanded for n-dimensional data. We show features and performances of the proposed method through experimental results for 3D scattered points. |
