향후 이동체들은 외부 네트워크 연결을 통해서 다양한 서비스를 지원할 것이다. 따라서 보안을 고려한 이동체 내부 네트워크와 외부 네트워크의 협력이 중요한 요소로 부각된다. 본 논문은 이동체 내외부 네트워크를 안정적으로 연결할 수 있는 전가상화 기반의 네트워크 게이트웨이를 설계한다. 가상화 기반의 네트워크 게이트웨이는 가상화된 시스템들 중 하나가 치명적 오류를 일으키더라도 그 외의 시스템은 영향을 받지 않는다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Wi-Fi와 CAN 네트워크를 연결할 수 있는 네트워크 게이트웨이를 VirtualBox를 이용하여 구현하고 성능 측정을 수행한다. 성능 측정 결과 가상화로 인해서 통신 지연시간이 56% 증가됨을 보인다. 이러한 성능 저하에도 불구하고 제안된 설계는 안전성을 증가시킬 수 있는 가능성이 크기 때문에 본 연구 결과는 관련 연구들의 나아갈 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

(English Abstract) |
It is expected that the vehicles are equipped with an external network connection in near future to provide various services. This will emphasize the secure collaboration between internal and external networks because the nodes in external network can offer malicious attacks or misbehavior. In this paper, we suggest a vehicular network gateway that is able to bridge the external and internal networks securely. We exploit the virtualization technology to isolate the system faults caused by the external network. We implement the network gateway that employs VirtualBox for virtualization and bridges Wi-Fi and CAN networks. The performance measurement results show that the virtualization adds overhead of 56% compared with a non-virtualized case. In spite of the worse performance, the proposed design has the significant potential to increase security.
