비록 이전의 연구들이 지역 자치성을 침해하지 않으면서 성공적으로 전역 직렬성을 보장하기는 하였지만, 지역 이질성이 미치는 영향에 관해서는 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는, 지역 이질성을 전역 트랜잭션간의 비정상적인 직접 충돌로 특징지우고, 이러한 충돌이 기존의 전역 동시성 제어 이론과 티켓 연산의 최적화에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 또한, 전역 트랜잭션 관리자가 이질적인 멀티데이타베이스 환경에서 전역 직렬성을 보장하기 위한 엄격한 조건을 제안한다. 특히, 새로운 직렬성 형태로 엄격한 충돌 직렬성과 엄격한 공유 직렬성을 제시하는데, 이들 새로운 직렬성의 특이한 점은 지역 이질성을 허용하면서 전역 직렬성을 보장하기 위해서는 전역 트랜잭션의 엄격한 실행을 요구한다는 것이다. 또한, 이 두 직렬성을 시행하는 엄격한 전역 트랜잭션 관리자를 제안한다.

(English Abstract) |
Although the previous approaches to global serializability have successfully led to the achievement of global serializability without violation of local autonomy, relatively not much work on the impacts of local heterogeneity has been done. In this paper, we characterize local heterogeneity as abnormal direct conflicts among global transactions and analyze the impacts of abnormal direct conflicts on the theory of global concurrency control and the optimization of ticket operations. Then, strict conditions for global serializability are provided, which are in order for global transaction manager to enforce global serializability in a heterogeneous multidatabase environment. In particular, two new types of serializability, strict conflicting serializability and strict sharing serializability, are proposed. The novelty of two new criteria lies in the fact that strictness af global transactions is found to be a mainly contributing property in achieving global serializability with tolerance of local heterogeneity. We also suggest strict global transaction managers to enforce the two types of serializability.
