¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
There are several conceptual models to provide multicasting service and broadcasting service over ATM networks such as LAN emulation model, multicast router model and Multicast Address Resolution Server(MARS) model.
This paper suggests a method to support multiple Multicasting Servers(MCS) based on the MARS. The existing single MCS model has the problem of performance degradation for transfering multicasting traffic because the MCS acts as a bottleneck point when multicasting traffic is concentrated on the MCS. In this paper, MARS directly monitors currently available link capacity of each MCS and partitions a large multicasting group into several small subgroups and, if necessary, balances loads among the MCSs. We describe the details about behaviors of the extended MARS and the client and the major data structures needed for implementing MARS.
