(English Abstract)
It is well known that the distance spectrum of conventional turbo codes improves with increasing interleaver size. However, the interleaver size for conventional turbo codes is set identical to the information frame length. In this paper, we propose a turbo coding scheme utilizing a repeaterpuncturer combination in order to enable the use of interleavers of sizes larger than the information frame length. Analysis and simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms conventional turbo codes at moderate to high signal-to-noise ratios.
