기존의 종이기반 임상연구는 지속적인 개선 과정을 거쳐 발전되어 왔으나 아직도 임상연구의 각 단계에서 발생하는 시간지연과 오류발생으로 인해 많은 비용이 소모된다. 이에 빠른 속도로 발전하는 정보기술을 임상연구에 적용하려는 노력이 있어왔으나 고가의 유지 관리 비용으로 인해 신약 개발을 위한 대규모 임상 연구에서 주로 고려되고 있다. 본 연구는 중환자를 대상으로 하는 중소 규모의 임상 연구에 적합한 온라인 등록 시스템을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 정확한 데이터의 입력과 용이한 데이터 추적, 그리고 실시간 데이터 관리 등의 세 가지 기본 전략을 제시하여 기존의 오프라인 임상 연구의 단점을 보완하였다. 개발된 온라인 등록 시스템은 대한중환자의학회에서 진행되는 임상 연구에 활용되어 그 성능을 평가받았다.

(English Abstract) |
Existing paper-based clinical studies have been developed through a process of continuous improvement; however, they are still very costly due to the time delay and errors occurred in each step of clinical researches. There have been efforts to apply rapidly advancing IT technology to clinical research, but these endeavors are mainly pertinent to large-scale clinical studies for new drug development because of their expensive maintenance costs. This study has the purpose on developing IT integrated online registry system appropriated for small-to-medium clinical research on intensive care unit patients. This study has presented three basic strategies-accurate data input, easy data tracing, and real-time data management-to supplement the demerits of existing offline clinical study. The performance of the developed online registry system was evaluated by being utilized in a clinical research progressed by The Korean Society of Critical Cared Medicine.
