(English Abstract)
The importance of method of capture, processing, and transport for real-time ultra-high definition (UHD) media is increased. In addition, media compression is required for efficient networking because it need 6Gbps bandwidth for transmission of uncompressed 4K media. DXT is a compression technique that is software based lightweight media encoding scheme and easy to apply PC-based media compression with GPU accelerated decompression. However, it is hard to real-time media compression of ultra-high resolution media using CPU only. In this paper, we propose techniques to improve real-time features of low-latency DXT compression using GPU-based parallel processing with Computer Unified Device Architecture (CUDA).
