(English Abstract)
Skyline computation has emerged as a hot issue in database community because of its promising applications in multi-criteria decision making. In sensor network environments, the skyline computation has also important applications in the environmental monitoring and the industrial control. Skyline query algorithms have been well studied in traditional database system, the existing algorithms has a difficulty to apply in sensor networks, because of characteristics of sensor networks, such as limited battery, multi-hop communication, and the distributed environment. In this paper, we propose a new method to select filter called the Generalized MinMax. The proposed method maintain hierarchical filter at node. The proposed method can construct good filters for the nodes and thus reduce unnecessary transmissions of sensed data in an effective manner. Our performance evaluation with simulated data sets shows that the proposed method reduces data communication and consumes less energy than the existing method.
