본 연구는 정역학 분야의 문제해결에 자주 수반되는 도형에 관한 추론을 수행하기 위한 지식표현 및 추론 체계를 정립하고, 이를 통해 생성된 정보를 바탕으로 문제공간을 도형적으로 표현 가능케 하는, 이른바 도형 추론에 기반한 문제공간의 가시화 방안을 제안한다. 제안된 방안은 도형에 관한 추론을 필요로 하는 정역학, 또는 이와 유사한 영역을 위한 지식 기반 시스템에서 추론의 도구로서 활용될 수 있다. 또한 이러한 추론의 과정 또는 결과는 도형생성모듈에 의해 학습자에게 보다 가시적인 방법으로 제시 및 설명될 수 있으므로 이러한 기능을 필요로 하는 학습시스템의 사용자 환경 설계에 널리 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

(English Abstract) |
In this paper, a methodology is proposed to hep visualize the statics problem space based on reasoning about diagrams, which very often accompanies problem solving in statics. In the proposed methodology, both representational and inferential frameworks are established for reasoning about diagrams and later for providing information for the generation of diagrams from the problem space. The proposed methodology can be utilized as an inferential scheme in domains similar to statics where reasoning about diagrams is necessary. Also, such a methodology may be widely used in the design of user interface environments of ITS requiring such a capability, since it helps students understand the processes of and the results from the system's inferential behavior in a visual way.
