Enterprise resource planning (ERP) refers to a modular and quality software which integrates the principal domains that includes various business activities of an organization into a simplified and integrated system. Acceptance of ERP software in any organization has improved productivity, efficiency and decrease costs in the past. Further it also streamlines the business processes by efficiently improving decision making capability, maintaining employee¡¯s harmony and proper client handling system. In this paper, we have reviewed the implementation benefits, customization, performance evaluation, various success factors and the need of ERP in Small Manufacturing Enterprises (SMEs). This paper also includes the step by step process flow by keeping aimed on performance and cost effectiveness parameters to implement ERP in Indian SMEs to satisfy business needs.
