(English Abstract)
In this paper, we have suggested a new method to analyze the error rate performance of the multi-level modulation system in Nakagami fading plus AWGN channel. For a verification of this method, we have derived and evaluated the error rate performance of BPSK and QPSK systems. From a comparison, we have confirmed that the error rate perormance of BPSK and QPSK systems derived by a new method is identical to that of the conventional method. And the error rate performance of 16 QAM system in Nakagami fading channel is almost identical with that of Rician fading channel for smae fading index. Therefore it is known that the new method is more reasonable than the conventional method in obtaining the error rate performance of multi-level modulation schemes in a fading enviornment. Also it is known that the error rate of 16 QAM systems with non-diversity cannot be obtained 10(-3%uC2B9) in m %u226420 and the floor of error occurred n the high CNR region. So the 16 QAM system cannot be used normally without any compensation techniques. So 2-branch MRC diversity technique is introduced as a compensation technique and this technique gives a remarkable eprformance improvement in comparison to non-diversity. And as the fading index m increases, the degree of improvement becomes distinct.
