¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
Multi-version concurrency control scheme is used in many commercial DBMS stores undo data in private undo area. When undo data is needed, DBMS reads it from undo area in random-read manner. However, if a data is concurrently updated by many transactions, reading the data spends too much time because the number of undo block to be read increase. Also, since many undo data to be written to the data storage in a short period of time, it can cause deadlock. Unlike magnetic disks, FlashSSD has no mechanically moving parts. Therefore, it can provide fast and uniform random access speed and fast append-only writing speed in 8 Kbyte. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of multi-version concurrency control scheme in commercial DBMS using FlashSSD and harddisk. Thus we show that undo block read speed using FlashSSD is 15 times faster compared to using harddisk. We also say that block write performance is improved indirectly by using FlashSSD.
