Papers are invited on the following topics, but not limited to:



Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic and Evolutionary Computation

Statistical, Structural, and Hybrid  Pattern Recognition

Feature Selection

Character Recognition and Document Analysis

Credit Analysis and Bankruptcy Prediction

Time Series Analysis and Prediction

Image and Signal Processing Applications

Image Feature Analysis and Retrieval

Computer Vision



PAPER SUBMISSION

All papers must be submitted by July 01, 2001. Each paper MUST be

accompanied by a maximum of 300 word summary on what contribution it

makes to the field.  In addition to full papers, abstracts are also be

accepted. Abstracts must be submitted by August 1st. Full paper could

have up to 12 single-column, single-space pages; and abstract up to 4.

It is expected that the papers and abstracts are submitted on the

understanding that their acceptance will require authors to register and



attend the symposium. The language of the symposium is English. Each

paper/abstract can be sent electronically to nmurshed@cognus.eti.br in

PDF format.

Otherwise three copies of each paper/abstract should be sent to:
