강의 내용

7월 4일(수)  1. Introduction to data mining

 

General overview of all aspects of data mining.

 

7월 5일(목)

 2. Collaborative filtering and item recommendation

 

Overview of collaborative filtering approaches and a discussion on a new approach on item recommendation based on separating the associative vs. renewal buying.

 

7월 6일(금)

 3. Unsupervised learning (clustering)

 

Introduction to various aspects of unsupervised learning: techniques, strength/weakness, scaling and robustness issues.

 

7월 9일(월)

 4. Predictive model generation and evaluation.

 

Overview of many model families for classification and regression. Use of multiple models. Graphical models. Probabilistic models. Evaluation issues for model generation phase and model use phase.

 

7월 10일(화)

 5. Feature selection and discretization

 

Discussions on issues and techniques for selecting (or generating) a good set of features, discretization of numeric features, bio-informatics pattern features.
