Our Lab organizes First International Workshop on Geoprocessing GEOPRO 2002 in Mexico City, 3-4 December 2002. The main workshop's topic is "Semantic Processing of Spatial Data", which includes, but is not limited, the following areas: ---Automatic Interpretation of Raster-Scanned Cartographic Maps ---Automatic Map Generalization ---Intelligent GIS Tools ---GIS Applications for Developed Countries. We suppose to limit the number of participants by 50 persons from around the world and publish only e-proceedings with ISBN in CD. All papers will be referred by at least two referees. The workshop will be held in junction with two other events organized by our Centre: the 7th. Iberoamerican Conference on Pattern Recognition (CIARP 2002), 19-22 November, 2002, and the 14th International Congress on Computing (CIC 2002), 25-29 November, 2002. Some invited researchers come from ESRI, the University of Maryland (USA), Simon Fraser University, Universit?Laval de Qu?ec (Canada), eCognition (Germany), National Institute of Geography (France), GEOIMAGE (Australia), Adolfo Guzman-Arenas (Mexico). The workshop format includes two 2days tutorials (2hours), four invited lectures (30 min.) and oral presentation in sections (15 min.)
