This paper presents a new approach to ``direct'' blind equalization of Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) FIR channels by exploiting second-order statistics only. First, it is stressed out here that there exist a causal and stable inverse (equalizer-bank) under mild conditions on (nonminimum phase) FIR channels when several measurements are performed at the receiver, either by means of oversampling the received signal or by using multiple sensors. Next, from the existence of the inverse of SIMO channels, we present a new blind equalization criterion based on second-order statistics. As an implementation, an FIR equalizer-bank is constructed and an iterative algorithm is proposed. Extensive computer simulation results confirm the validity and efficiency of the proposed approach.
