¿µ¹®³»¿ë (English Abstract) |
Indoor automatic driving technology is a generic technology that is used to support various application services in an IoT edge environment. In this kind of system, we expect a smart mobile object to move from its current position to a designated position automatically while appropriately responding to any events occurring during its trip. To achieve this, camera sensors are vital as they provide essential visual information. However, since battery energy consumption for camera sensors is higher than for other sensors, edge camera systems are hugely promising as they can provide both low energy consumption and suitable visual information for proper operation. In this paper, an edge camera system was implemented on a Raspberry Pi. For performance evaluation, we measured the total battery usage according to the number of events instead of just making a quantity comparison of battery usage. In the experiments, our edge camera system decreased the battery energy consumption of a smart mobile object, this clearly shows that the longevity of any smart mobile object can be greatly enhanced by our system.
